A path leading through the tropical landscape at ALUME

Participate

There is more than one way to help a living system recover.

Bring resources, knowledge, land, creativity, or time. Find the path that fits who you are and what you can contribute.

Companies & ESG Partners

Build a partnership your people can see and stand behind.

We work with companies seeking credible, place-based environmental action rather than distant claims. Partnerships can combine funding, employee participation, technical resources, and transparent field reporting.

Together we can shape a practical programme around biodiversity, restoration, circularity, community learning, or long-term stewardship.

Ways to participate

  • Fund a defined project or multi-year programme
  • Create employee participation and field-learning days
  • Contribute technology, logistics, services, or materials

Foundations, NGOs & Public Institutions

Combine resources around outcomes that last.

ALUME offers a grounded territory where ecological restoration, education, research, culture, and local development can reinforce one another. We welcome co-designed programmes and grant partnerships with clear goals and shared accountability.

Our aim is not a one-off intervention, but durable capacity in the landscape and the communities connected to it.

Ways to participate

  • Co-design grant-funded programmes
  • Pilot and document replicable regenerative methods
  • Build local capacity and shared monitoring frameworks

Scientists & Universities

Use a living territory to ask better questions.

The forest, agroforestry systems, biodiversity corridors, soil, water, and community processes at Fazenda ALUME create a rich setting for applied and long-term inquiry.

We are interested in research that strengthens ecological understanding and produces knowledge that can travel beyond our own land.

Ways to participate

  • Develop field research and monitoring partnerships
  • Host student projects, theses, and academic visits
  • Share methods, datasets, and open-source findings

Schools & Communities

Make regeneration something people can experience.

A living landscape can become a classroom for ecology, food systems, waste, biodiversity, creativity, and collective responsibility. We welcome learning experiences shaped to different ages and local realities.

Programmes can happen at the farm, in partner schools, or through community-led activities built together.

Ways to participate

  • Organise guided learning visits and field days
  • Co-create workshops for students or educators
  • Develop community activities around practical ecology

Land & Biodiversity Partners

Connect land, plants, and knowledge across the territory.

Farmers, landowners, nurseries, collectors, and conservation neighbours can help create a stronger ecological network across Southern Bahia.

We are building relationships around habitat connectivity, responsible stewardship, propagation material, local species, and the exchange of practical experience.

Ways to participate

  • Exchange or donate seeds, seedlings, and plants
  • Connect neighbouring habitats and restoration areas
  • Share land knowledge, tools, and regenerative practice

Artists & Cultural Institutions

Create work in conversation with a changing landscape.

Art can help people feel ecological change before they can measure it. We invite artists, curators, cultural organisations, and educators to explore the territory as a place of research, making, exchange, and public imagination.

Collaborations may connect to the Artist Green Residency or take the form of workshops, exhibitions, documentation, or site-responsive work.

Ways to participate

  • Apply for or support an artistic residency
  • Develop site-responsive work and cultural research
  • Create public programmes that connect art and ecology

Volunteers

Give your time where it can become part of the work.

Volunteering at ALUME is a practical exchange. On-site volunteers join the rhythm of the territory; remote volunteers contribute skills in research, communication, design, technology, and other areas that strengthen the institute.

The dedicated volunteer page explains the experience, current roles, expectations, and how to take the next step.

Ways to participate

  • Live and work with the team on site
  • Contribute professional skills remotely
  • Support research and open knowledge
